Night Falls on a Blizzard

Our lilac tree! Maine

  1. Ma'am, I have discovered your blogs through JCB's post yesterday and I must say I am delighted. A lilac tree in a blizzard - wonderful. That you have a lilac at all - a tree I love from home, especially the white ones -is amazing to me. In the south where I am they don't grow as far as I know and the scent of lilac is as redolent of times past as is that of the hyacinth of early springs.

  2. Hello Blue! Thank you for stopping by and with such a nice comment! Our lilacs generally bloom the first week of June...they thrive in Maine and can be seen in profusion along the roadsides everywhere. I do envy your longer growing season and your diverse native plants!
