I don't know your Flicker friend, but was saddened to read about DED's dad. It sounds like a great loss in your lovely village. I have to say I am a bit envious of having a parent that long. And I celebrate that Mr. Emerson died in a place that was his heart.
home before dark ~ Our town will miss him very much. There was a front page and two full accompanying pages in our local newspaper this morning of stories about Mr. Emerson and a long list of his many contributions. It's been a long time since I have seen anything like that.
Thoughts and images of Maine and beyond.
I have lived in Iran, Bahrain, Hong Kong and England and I loved all of those places, but for me, Maine has been a constant... I feel most at home on this rocky shore and I became a full time resident in 1993. Winter's bitter cold and dark days were an adjustment, but I now view this season as a time of peace and creativity.
This is primarily a photo blog of the things I love... the back roads, small towns, gorgeous shoreline and blissful days spent on the water, with a bit of every day minutiae thrown in just for fun. It is meant to be a companion to Flickr, a global community of photographers and a place where over nine thousand of my photos have found a home. Here, I want to combine my photo stream with a narrative for a more interactive experience and to give some additional information on the images. I hope you will take a moment to visit.
All photos are my own, unless otherwise noted.
